MORE ABOUT THIS ITEM

The Magnahelic guage is the industry standard to measure fan and blower pressures, filter resistance, air velocity, furnace draft, pressure drop across orifice plates, liquid levels with bubbler systems, and pressures in fluid amplifier or fluidic systems. The gauge's motion is damped with high-viscosity silicone fluid. The zero adjustment screw is conveniently located in the plastic cover, and is accessible without removing the cover. O-ring seal provides pressure tightness. Rugged design resists shock, vibration, and overpressure.

The helix is precision-made from an alloy of high magnetic permeability. Mounted in jeweled bearings, it turns freely, following the maganetic field to move the pointer across the scale. The samarium cobalt magnet is mounted at one end of the range spring and rotates the helix without mechanical linkages.

Precision Differential Pressure Measurement

The Dwyer Magnehelic Gauge is tailored for accurate monitoring of low differential air and non-corrosive gas pressures. Designed for critical applications like clean rooms, air ducts, and HVAC systems, its clear analog dial and 0.2 inch WC resolution make it easy to interpret results. Its sturdy construction ensures long-term stability and resistance to demanding industrial environments.

Durable Build and Easy Installation

Crafted with a die-cast aluminum case and a polycarbonate front cover, the gauge offers exceptional durability. Installation is straightforward, allowing for either surface or flush mounting. The package includes essential accessories, such as mounting adaptors, pipe plugs, and screws, streamlining deployment across various applications in industrial and commercial settings.

FAQ's of Dwyer USA Magnehelic Gauges 0 To 30 Inch WC:

Q: How does the Magnehelic Gauge ensure accurate differential pressure readings?

A: The gauge uses a precision diaphragm mechanism and analog dial with a resolution of 0.2 inch WC, providing reliable readings with an accuracy of 2% of full scale. External zero adjustment allows users to reset the baseline easily for consistent monitoring.

Q: What environments and applications is this gauge suitable for?

A: It is ideal for industrial and commercial environments such as clean rooms, filter monitoring, blower and fan pressure measurement, duct static pressure, and air velocity assessments. Its IP50 ingress protection ensures resistance to dust in a range of typical installations.

Q: When should the gauge be mounted vertically versus horizontally?

A: Vertical mounting is recommended for standard use to ensure optimal accuracy. If mounted horizontally, the gauge may experience a minor loss of accuracy, so adjustments should be considered based on your application's precision requirements.

Q: Where on an air system should this gauge be installed for best performance?

A: The gauge should be connected across points where differential pressure is to be monitored, such as upstream and downstream of filters, across fans, or within airflow ducts. Each installation point may vary depending on the desired pressure monitoring application.

Q: What benefits does the overpressure protection provide?

A: The gauge is designed to safely withstand pressures up to twice its rated maximum (30 psi), helping prevent damage in the event of accidental overpressure and extending the instrument's lifecycle even in demanding use environments.

Q: How accessible is the zero adjustment, and why is it important?

A: Zero adjustment is available via an external knob on the gauge front, allowing quick and easy calibration without disassembling the unit. Regular zeroing is crucial for maintaining measurement accuracy, especially after installation or relocation.
