MORE ABOUT THIS ITEM

The Magnahelic guage is the industry standard to measure fan and blower pressures, filter resistance, air velocity, furnace draft, pressure drop across orifice plates, liquid levels with bubbler systems, and pressures in fluid amplifier or fluidic systems. The gauge's motion is damped with high-viscosity silicone fluid. The zero adjustment screw is conveniently located in the plastic cover, and is accessible without removing the cover. O-ring seal provides pressure tightness. Rugged design resists shock, vibration, and overpressure.

The helix is precision-made from an alloy of high magnetic permeability. Mounted in jeweled bearings, it turns freely, following the maganetic field to move the pointer across the scale. The samarium cobalt magnet is mounted at one end of the range spring and rotates the helix without mechanical linkages.

FAQ's of Dwyer USA Magnehelic Gauges 0 To 2.0 Inch WC:

Q: How does the Dwyer Magnehelic Gauge 2000-2 operate?

A: The Magnehelic 2000-2 functions using a diaphragm sensor mechanism that measures differential pressure between two points, displaying results on its analog dial from 0 to 2.0 inch water column (WC). External zero adjustment allows users to recalibrate easily.

Q: What applications is this gauge suitable for?

A: This model is widely used in HVAC systems, clean rooms, and filter monitoring, as well as for measuring draft and fan pressures. It can handle steam, oil, or gas pressure in various industrial environments.

Q: Where should the gauge be installed for optimal performance?

A: Mount the gauge on a stable panel or wall using the included brackets, fitting the two 1/8" NPT connections to the pressure source. Surface or flush mounting options are available to suit diverse installations.

Q: What is the process for zero adjustment?

A: To perform zero adjustment, use the external adjustment screw on the front of the gauge; this enables quick correction of baseline readings without needing to dismantle the device.

Q: When is it beneficial to use this gauge in filter monitoring?

A: It is particularly useful to consistently monitor filter differential pressures in air handling systems. When readings approach the operational limit, it signals the need for filter changes, helping to maintain efficiency and system health.

Q: What are the advantages of the IP52 enclosure rating?

A: The IP52 rating ensures the gauge is dust protected and offers limited liquid ingress resistance, providing reliable operation in moderately challenging industrial environments.
