MORE ABOUT THIS ITEM
The Magnahelic guage is the industry standard to measure fan and blower pressures, filter resistance, air velocity, furnace draft, pressure drop across orifice plates, liquid levels with bubbler systems, and pressures in fluid amplifier or fluidic systems. The gauge's motion is damped with high-viscosity silicone fluid. The zero adjustment screw is conveniently located in the plastic cover, and is accessible without removing the cover. O-ring seal provides pressure tightness. Rugged design resists shock, vibration, and overpressure.
The helix is precision-made from an alloy of high magnetic permeability. Mounted in jeweled bearings, it turns freely, following the maganetic field to move the pointer across the scale. The samarium cobalt magnet is mounted at one end of the range spring and rotates the helix without mechanical linkages.

FAQ's of Dwyer USA Magnehelic Gauges 0 To 150 MM WC:
Q: How do I install the Dwyer Magnehelic Gauge?
A: The gauge is designed for surface mounting and features three rear flange holes for secure attachment. The package includes necessary adapters and mounting hardware. For optimal results, follow the provided instruction sheet to ensure a proper, leak-free installation.
Q: What makes this gauge suitable for both HVAC and cleanroom applications?
A: With high accuracy, immediate mechanical response, and IP54 dust protection, the gauge maintains precise pressure measurement in environments where maintaining specific pressure levels is crucial, such as in HVAC ducts and cleanrooms.
Q: When should I adjust the zero on the Magnehelic Gauge, and how is it done?
A: Zero adjustment may be needed before initial use or after exposure to significant temperature or pressure variations. Simply use the external screw on the gauge's front to calibrate the pointer to zero while at atmospheric pressure.
Q: Where can I mount the Magnehelic Gauge for optimal performance?
A: This gauge can be surface mounted on walls or panels using the rear flange holes. It is often positioned close to the system being monitored-such as HVAC ducts or cleanroom barriers-for best visibility and access.
Q: What is the benefit of using a diaphragm mechanism over a Bourdon tube in this gauge?
A: The diaphragm provides higher sensitivity and accuracy for low-pressure differential measurements, making it ideal for applications like air velocity and cleanroom pressure monitoring, where precise low-pressure readings are essential.
Q: Which media can the Magnehelic Gauge safely measure?
A: It is designed to measure the pressure of clean steam, gases, and oils, provided they are compatible with the silicone rubber seals and die-cast aluminum housing. It is not suitable for corrosive or highly aggressive fluids.
Q: How does the IP54 rating benefit users in industrial settings?
A: The IP54 protection ensures that the gauge is dust-protected and resistant to splashes, which enhances durability and reliability, especially in dusty or humid industrial environments.
