About Dwyer MS 151 Magnesense Differential Pressure Transmitter

Dwyer Instruments MS-151

Differential Pressure Xmitter 25"H2O,Panel Mount

The Series MS Magnesense Differential Pressure Transmitter is an extremely versatile transmitter for monitoring pressure and air velocity. This compact package is loaded with features such as: field selectable English or metric ranges, field upgradeable LCD display, adjustable dampening of output signal (with optional display) and the ability to select a square root output for use with Pitot tubes and other similar flow sensors. Along with these features, the magnetic sensing technology provides exceptional long term performance and enables the Magnesense transmitter to be the solution for a myriad of pressure and flow applications. Field Upgradeable LCD. No need to order two separate transmitters. Simply stock a transmitter and display and you can satisfy any customer's requests. Simply remove cover and snap the LCD onto the board. Field Selectable Ranges in metric or English. Lowers stock and inventory requirements. You'll always have the right transmitter for every job. Digital Push Button Zero and Span. Reduces calibration time significantly over other transmitters that utilize potentiometers. Lowers maintenance time and costs. Adjustable Digital Dampening smooths out unstable pressure fluctuations common in air flow applications. Field Selectable Air Velocity Mode for fan and blower applications. Unit provides square root output that accurately tracks fpm or m/s flow rate. No need for a smart programmable indicator or PLC to convert pressure to air flow. Reduces components and installation time lowering overall costs.

FAQs of Dwyer MS 151 Magnesense Differential Pressure Transmitter:

Q: How do I install the Dwyer MS 151 Magnesense Differential Pressure Transmitter?

A: The MS 151 can be wall-mounted using the included bracket and screws. Connect tubing (from 1/8" to 3/16" ID) to the barbed pressure ports, and use the terminal block to wire the power supply (10-35 VDC or 10-32 VAC) and output signals (4-20 mA or 0-10 VDC) as required by your system.

Q: What types of media can the MS 151 measure?

A: This transmitter is designed to accurately measure the pressure of dry air and compatible non-aggressive or non-corrosive gases only. It is not intended for use with liquids or corrosive gases.

Q: When should I perform zero and span adjustments?

A: It is recommended to perform zero and span calibrations whenever the transmitter is first installed, when moved to a new location, or periodically to maintain accuracy. Adjustments are made easily using the push-button controls on the device.

Q: Where can the transmitter be used within an industrial setting?

A: With an IP66 enclosure and a temperature range from 0 to 60C, the MS 151 can be deployed in various indoor industrial environments where reliable air or gas differential pressure monitoring is required, such as HVAC systems, clean rooms, and filter monitoring.

Q: What are the benefits of the digital LED display on the MS 151?

A: The integrated digital LED display provides immediate, on-site readout of measured pressure values. This facilitates efficient troubleshooting, real-time monitoring, and reduces the need for separate display modules.

Q: How does the transmitter ensure long-term durability?

A: The MS 151 features a robust polycarbonate and aluminum housing, with silicone seals and an IP66 rating to resist dust and water ingress, making it dependable for prolonged industrial use.

Q: What is the process for connecting the transmitter electrically?

A: The unit is equipped with a terminal block for straightforward electrical connection. Simply follow the wiring diagram in the manual to connect to your chosen power source and output system, ensuring correct polarity and secure wire terminations.
