FAQ's of Dwyer 1910-00 Compact Low Differential Pressure Switch:
Q: How do I set or adjust the pressure switch set point on the Dwyer 1910-00?
A: The set point on the Dwyer 1910-00 is internally adjustable. To change the set point, access the internal adjustment mechanism by removing the enclosure cover, then follow the provided instructions to fine-tune the desired activation pressure within the 0.07 to 1.0 in w.c. range.
Q: What is the recommended process for mounting the switch?
A: The Dwyer 1910-00 is designed for surface mounting in a vertical orientation. Use the included mounting bracket and screws to securely attach the switch to a stable surface. Ensure the process piping connects to the unit via the 1/8" female NPT thread for optimal performance.
Q: When should I consider using the 1910-00 for my application?
A: This pressure switch is suitable whenever precise monitoring of low differential pressure is necessary, especially in steam, oil, or gas systems. Its accuracy and durable construction make it ideal for industrial applications where dependable switching and robust operation are required.
Q: Where can the Dwyer 1910-00 measure differential pressure?
A: The 1910-00 can be used in any compatible industrial system requiring differential pressure monitoring between two points, regardless of whether the medium is steam, oil, or gas. Its 4-inch diameter allows it to fit easily within most standard system layouts.
Q: What benefits does the Dwyer 1910-00 offer over electronic alternatives?
A: As a purely mechanical switch, the 1910-00 provides reliable switching without the need for external power sources or complicated electronics, offering superior operational simplicity and robustness in harsh or hazardous environments.
Q: How do I connect wiring to the pressure switch?
A: Screw terminals inside the enclosure allow for quick and secure wiring. Ensure power is disconnected before making connections, and follow the wiring diagram provided in the product manual for safe and correct installation.
Q: What is the maximum allowable pressure, and what happens if exceeded?
A: The maximum allowable pressure for the Dwyer 1910-00 is 25 inches w.c. (6.21 kPa). Exceeding this may compromise switch accuracy, cause mechanical failure, or damage the internal diaphragm, voiding the warranty and possibly leading to unsafe operating conditions.
