About Magnehelic Gauge
Magnehelic Gauge
Magnehelic gage for high accuracyguaranteed within 2% of full scaleand for the wide choice of 81 models available to suit your needs precisely. Using Dwyers simple, frictionless Magnehelic gage movement, it quickly indicates low air or non-corrosive gas pressureseither positive, negative (vacuum) or differential. The design resists shock, vibration and over-pressures. No manometer fluid to evaporate, freeze or cause toxic or leveling problems. Its inexpensive, too.
The Magnehelic gage is the industry standard to measure fan and blower pressures, filter resistance, air velocity, furnace draft, pressure drop across orifice plates, liquid levels with bubbler systems and pressures in fluid amplifier or fluidic systems. It also checks gas-air ratio controls and automatic valves, and monitors blood and respiratory pressures in medical care equipment.

FAQs of Magnehelic Gauge:
Q: How does the Magnehelic Gauge measure differential pressure?
A: The Magnehelic Gauge utilizes a differential pressure sensor to measure the difference in pressure between two points, most commonly in low air or non-corrosive gas applications. Its analog display translates this difference into a clear reading on the scale, ranging from 0 to 60 cm/h2o.
Q: What are the typical application areas for this model?
A: This gauge is extensively used in HVAC systems, clean rooms, filter monitoring, and fan or blower pressure management. Its suited for any setting where precise monitoring of low air or gas pressure is required, particularly in industrial-grade operations.
Q: When should this gauge be selected over other pressure measuring devices?
A: Choose the Magnehelic Gauge when you need accurate, visual, and rapid monitoring of low pressure differences, especially for air or non-corrosive gases. Its over-range protection and 2% accuracy make it a reliable tool in environments that demand robust performance.
Q: Where should the Magnehelic Gauge be installed?
A: Install the gauge on a flat panel or surface near the location where you wish to measure pressure differences, such as across filters or in ventilation ducts. Ensure the pressure ports are correctly connected with brass fittings for accurate results and to maintain IP52 protection.
Q: What benefits does the analog display offer for industrial users?
A: The analog display provides immediate, easy-to-read pressure values without the need for power or calibration delays common with digital instruments. It enables quick system checks and continuous monitoring, facilitating rapid response during maintenance or operational adjustments.
Q: How do I maintain optimal performance of the Magnehelic Gauge?
A: Keep the gauge free from dust and moisture, mount it securely, and periodically check the integrity of brass connectors and neoprene seals. Avoid exposing it to pressures exceeding the 172 kPa over-range limit to ensure longevity and reliable readings.
